Medication Management Treatment (MMT)

At Star Behavioral Health & Recovery Center, we prioritize comprehensive care through our Medication Management Treatment program (MMT), led by a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. This program is designed to assist clients in effectively managing their medications as part of their overall recovery process. While the primary focus is on group treatment, clients benefit from regular consultations with a psychiatrist to evaluate the effectiveness of their medications and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner continuously assesses whether their current program placement remains the appropriate level of care for each client. Depending on individual needs, psychiatrist visits may occur every few weeks or several times a week, ensuring proactive monitoring and timely intervention to prevent the escalation of symptoms that may require a higher level of care.

Program Structure Includes:

  • Clinical Assessments: Comprehensive evaluations of clients’ mental health, substance use, and overall well-being to identify their needs, strengths, and areas for growth. These assessments inform individualized treatment plans.
  • Group Counseling: Structured sessions where clients share experiences and receive support from peers, guided by a trained counselor. Group settings foster a sense of community and promote collective healing.
  • Individual Counseling: One-on-one sessions focused on personalized support, where clients can explore personal challenges, set goals, and develop coping strategies with the guidance of a licensed counselor.
  • Mental Health Therapy: Evidence-based therapeutic interventions aimed at addressing mental health conditions, enhancing emotional well-being, and promoting positive behavior change.
  • Medication Management: Careful monitoring and regulation of prescribed medications, including Suboxone and others, to ensure effective treatment and support for mental health or substance use disorders.
  • Housing Assistance: Resources and support for clients seeking stable housing, including referrals, temporary accommodations, and transitional housing placements.
  • Toxicology Screenings: Regular screenings to monitor substance use, which help in tailoring treatment and ensuring accountability in recovery progress.

Through this comprehensive approach, we aim to provide clients with the support they need to achieve stability and foster a successful recovery journey.
